Book Week - Day One

GRANDPARENT'S AND DAD'S MORNING

This morning some of our Grandparents and Dads came and read to us in our classroom. It was a lot of fun listening to them read. Some of us even read some pages with them.

First we had Jack Kibby's Grandma read 'The Great White Man Eating Shark' to us. We thought she was an amazing reader because she used lots of expression and is a confident reader.

Secondly we had Jaden's Nana read to us. She read
'Crickets Storm'. We enjoyed her reading to us because she had a clear voice and she looked like she was enjoying herself.

While we were waiting for some more visitors to arrive we read to each other.

We were lucky to have Lachy's Dad, Mr Dawe come in and read to us. Here you can see him reading 'Captain Cough A Lot'. He kindly let us help him read the book.

Next we had Jack Osment's Granddad come and talk to us about how time and life has changed. We all really enjoyed it because he explained how the world has changed over time. He even told us how he remembered when there were only 2 teachers and 30 students at Goodwood School! We think he is very knowledgeable.

Last but not least we had Flynns's Dad, Mr Crookston read to us. He read the 'Big Blue Train' and some of 'Gino the Genius'. He was making us think deeply about the story and he made us listen carefully to make sure the sentences made sense. Mr Crookston was a bit of a trickster and made us laugh.

Thank you to all of our Dads and Grandparents that took the time to come and read to us. We really appreciated it.

THANK YOU
From Ruma Korimako
